About the role
Responsibilities
- Contribute to internationally collaborative projects investigating the mechanisms of Parkinson’s disease and related neurodegenerative disorders
- Conduct laboratory-based investigations using human postmortem brain tissue and mouse models
- Perform advanced histopathology, including multiplex immunolabelling and fluorescence imaging
- Execute molecular pathology techniques such as proximity ligation assays
- Conduct quantitative image analysis and interpret complex experimental datasets
- Disseminate research findings through high-quality publications and presentations
- Participate in experimental design and collaborative discussions with internal and international partners
Requirements
- PhD in neuroscience, biomedical science, molecular biology, or a related discipline
- Demonstrated experience in laboratory-based biomedical or neuroscience research
- Proficiency in histology, immunohistochemistry, or fluorescence imaging
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and communicate experimental findings
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail regarding data management
- Ability to work both independently and within a multidisciplinary team
- Compliance with laboratory safety and immunization requirements (e.g., Hepatitis B)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with human postmortem brain tissue
- Familiarity with Parkinson’s disease or related proteinopathies
- Experience with RNA biology, disease modelling, or transcriptomics
- Proficiency with digital pathology, multiplex imaging, or advanced microscopy
- Experience with bioinformatics tools or quantitative image analysis
