Postdoctoral Research Fellow

Responsibilities

• Design, execute, and troubleshoot experiments and develop novel methodologies
• Analyse complex datasets using computational and statistical tools
• Contribute to research direction and identify innovation opportunities
• Prepare and publish high-quality scientific papers, reports, and protocols
• Present research at national and international conferences
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams within GBI, EIT, and external partners
• Build and maintain research infrastructure and laboratory capabilities
• Mentor and support junior researchers, including PhD students
• Translate research findings into commercial or translational opportunities
• Ensure research activities comply with legal requirements and best scientific practice

Requirements

• PhD in synthetic biology, biochemistry, molecular biology, microbiology, or nucleic acids chemistry
• Track record of delivering ambitious research projects to a high standard
• Experience in molecular biology, synthetic biology, or related fields
• Proficiency in data analysis and interpretation
• Experience publishing in high-impact journals
• Ability to work independently and solve complex experimental problems
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-growth research environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with genomic analysis, automation, or computational tools
• Experience presenting at international conferences
