About the role
Responsibilities
- Initiate, execute, and complete independent interdisciplinary research involving immunology, molecular biology, and neuroscience
- Prepare and write research papers, presentations, and grant proposals
- Assist with laboratory management and the training of graduate students
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary research team and external collaborators on ongoing and new projects
Requirements
- PhD in Neuroscience, Immunology, Cell and Molecular Biology, Biology, or a related field
- Proven track record in rodent behavioral testing and CNS analysis (including histology of brain sections)
- Demonstrated skill in stereotaxic injections
- Experience with human cerebral organoid models and iPSCs
- Proficiency in immunology techniques such as flow cytometry
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with demonstrated research productivity (first-author publications)
- Experience with rodent CNS surgery, such as vagus nerve stimulation, is considered an asset
