Postdoctoral Research Associate

Responsibilities

• Support research projects investigating cellular and molecular mechanisms of bone and tooth regeneration
• Perform molecular biology techniques including RTqPCR and histological processing/staining
• Conduct in vitro cell culture with immortalized lines and primary cells
• Utilize microscopy, microCT scanning, and various cell/tissue mechanical loading devices
• Manage rodent work including husbandry, breeding, colony maintenance, genotyping, injections, and survival surgery
• Assist with the supervision and training of students in the laboratory
• Participate in lab meetings, author publications, and present work at conferences

Requirements

• Ph.D. in stem cell biology, skeletal biology, developmental biology, bioengineering, or a related bioscience field
• Experience with mouse husbandry and survival surgery
• Proficiency in cell isolation and culture skills
• Experience with microscopy and microCT imaging/analysis
• Strong written and spoken English communication skills
• Ability to design independent experiments and interpret complex data sets

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with tissue mechanical loading devices
• Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple shifting priorities
