Postdoctoral Research Associate

Responsibilities

• Research terahertz and infrared near-field microscopy instrumentation and its applications in biological and quantum materials
• Develop, plan, and perform advanced ultrafast nanoscopy experiments
• Critically analyze experimental results and perform optimizations to improve outcomes
• Generate technical reports, presentations, and manuscripts for academic publication
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of staff scientists, postdoctoral researchers, and students
• Manage multiple tasks, meet research milestones, and draft quarterly progress reports

Requirements

• Ph.D. in Condensed Matter Physics
• Ph.D. must be completed prior to the start date

Preferred Qualifications

• Demonstrated knowledge and experience with ultrafast near-field microscopy in custom-designed environments (e.g., cryogenic temperatures, high magnetic fields, and femtosecond temporal resolution)
• Experience with ultrafast and terahertz spectroscopy and microscopy
• Experience building custom broadband scanning near-field optical spectroscopy systems spanning THz to infrared frequencies under extreme experimental conditions
