About the role

Responsibilities

  • Conduct CALPHAD-based simulations in a high performance computing (HPC) environment
  • Apply agentic and generative AI for alloy design and machine learning/inverse design techniques
  • Perform data analysis, visualization, and documentation of procedures
  • Train and supervise masters and doctoral students
  • Coordinate research with external collaborators and report/present results
  • Participate in writing peer-reviewed papers, reports, and research proposals

Requirements

  • PhD in Materials Science and Engineering (MSE), Mechanical Engineering (MECHE), Physics, Chemistry, or Chemical Engineering
  • Expertise in CALPHAD-based ICME techniques
  • Experience with advanced physics-based AI techniques
  • Proficiency in Python programming and experience with High Performance Computing (HPC)
  • Proven track record of publications in peer-reviewed journals
  • Strong teamwork, communication, and presentation skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in training and supervising graduate-level students
  • Ability to identify research obstacles and develop strategic solutions
