About the role
Responsibilities
- Conduct CALPHAD-based simulations in a high performance computing (HPC) environment
- Apply agentic and generative AI for alloy design and machine learning/inverse design techniques
- Perform data analysis, visualization, and documentation of procedures
- Train and supervise masters and doctoral students
- Coordinate research with external collaborators and report/present results
- Participate in writing peer-reviewed papers, reports, and research proposals
Requirements
- PhD in Materials Science and Engineering (MSE), Mechanical Engineering (MECHE), Physics, Chemistry, or Chemical Engineering
- Expertise in CALPHAD-based ICME techniques
- Experience with advanced physics-based AI techniques
- Proficiency in Python programming and experience with High Performance Computing (HPC)
- Proven track record of publications in peer-reviewed journals
- Strong teamwork, communication, and presentation skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in training and supervising graduate-level students
- Ability to identify research obstacles and develop strategic solutions
