About the role
Responsibilities
- Perform independent research on microfabricated biomedical sensors and readout circuitry
- Design sensors, microfabrication processes, backend readout circuitry, and system-level packaging
- Integrate sensors with microfluidic sample delivery systems and apply surface chemistry
- Conduct benchtop testing to benchmark system performance
- Maintain laboratory equipment and document research accomplishments for peer-reviewed journals
- Report progress to project advisors, research collaborators, and funding sponsors
Requirements
- PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
- Experience with nano/microfabrication processes
- Experience designing and testing in vitro or implantable sensors
- Proficiency in printed circuit board (PCB) prototyping
- Ability to perform data analysis using MATLAB or Python
- Experience working with microcontrollers
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience with potentiostat systems
- Background in neural engineering
- Experience designing, packaging, and testing neural implants
- Expertise in designing instrumentation for electrical stimulation of cells
