About the role
Responsibilities
- Advance capabilities in optimization-based conceptual design for new process development and improved process understanding
- Develop open-source tools for the training and optimization of machine learning surrogates
- Support data analysis, application development, and research objectives within the Laird research group
- Interact with multiple faculty members, industrial partners, and federal project sponsors
- Work collaboratively in a research environment to support departmental goals
Requirements
- Doctorate degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field
- 1-3 years of experience in process systems engineering and/or bioprocess modeling
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated creativity and ability to work in a collaborative research setting
