About the role
Responsibilities
- Plan, develop, execute, and analyze an independent research project focused on the developmental emergence of hematopoietic stem cells (HSCs).
- Conduct mechanistic studies into how TGF-β/BMP signaling pathways regulate pre-HSC maturation or map transcriptional states using single-cell and clonal barcoding approaches.
- Prepare high-quality manuscripts for publication, fellowship applications, and conference presentations.
- Mentor junior laboratory members and contribute to a highly collaborative, multidisciplinary team environment.
Requirements
- Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent degree in biological sciences or a related discipline.
- Minimum of one first-author publication from graduate studies or prior postdoctoral work.
- Strong foundational training in molecular biology, cell biology, developmental biology, or stem cell biology.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a research setting.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in hematopoiesis, stem cell biology, developmental biology, or vascular biology.
- Proficiency with mouse models, transplantation assays, or in vivo lineage tracing.
- Technical expertise in flow cytometry, cell sorting, and primary cell culture.
- Experience with single-cell RNA-seq, ATAC-seq, spatial genomics, or related genomic technologies.
- Familiarity with lentiviral systems, clonal barcoding, or computational biology/bioinformatics.
