About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead independent research projects investigating host-pathogen and host-microbiome interactions.
- Perform in vitro and in vivo experiments using mammalian cell culture, receptor signaling assays, and mouse models.
- Utilize molecular and immunological techniques to study metabolic, autoimmune, and oncologic diseases.
- Analyze high-dimensional data and maintain detailed experimental records in electronic lab notebooks.
- Collaborate with the Principal Investigator to establish research goals and communicate experimental progress.
- Contribute to the preparation of manuscripts and grant applications.
- Train and support laboratory staff, including technicians and students, in research techniques and safety protocols.
Requirements
- Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Cell Biology, Immunology, Microbiology, or a closely related field.
- Proficiency in molecular biology techniques.
- Experience with mammalian cell culture.
- Experience with immunological techniques.
- Ability to work with in vivo mouse models.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong background in receptor signaling or host-pathogen interactions.
- Proficiency in gene editing, cloning, qPCR, and Western blotting.
- Familiarity with flow cytometry.
- Experience with data analysis software such as GraphPad Prism, R, or Python.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
