About the role
Responsibilities
- Study novel EphB1/2 tyrosine kinase inhibitors as candidate therapeutics for neuropathic pain using preclinical models.
- Lead behavioral and pharmacological evaluations of novel compounds across surgical and chemical mouse models.
- Perform core behavioral assays including von Frey mechanical allodynia, hot plate thermal hyperalgesia, and acetone-evoked cold allodynia.
- Conduct tissue dissection and molecular analyses, including multiplex protein quantification and immunohistochemistry.
- Participate in experimental design, carry out experiments using mouse and human brain material, and maintain detailed data notebooks.
- Record, quantify, and analyze experimental data and assist the Principal Investigator with data processing.
- Lead or co-lead manuscripts for publication and present findings at scientific conferences.
Requirements
- PhD in Neuroscience, Pharmacology, Cell Biology, or a related field.
- Strong background in neurobehavioral approaches for pain-related behavioral testing.
- Experience with mouse brain and spinal cord tissue isolation.
- Ability to work independently and perform essential research duties satisfactorily.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience working with human cells or postmortem tissue samples.
- Demonstrated record of scientific achievements and publications.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to thrive in a collaborative research environment.
