About the role
Responsibilities
- Design and train vision-text transformer architectures for multimodal fusion, including RGB, thermal, intraoperative video, and EHR data
- Develop temporal and cross-attention components to model longitudinal risk trajectories
- Build robust, fairness-aware, and skin-tone-aware AI pipelines to ensure equity across the Fitzpatrick spectrum
- Partner with annotation teams using tools like Encord to shape active-learning loops and quality control
- Productionize machine learning models using PyTorch, Docker/Kubernetes, and AWS/SageMaker
- Prepare manuscripts for publication in high-impact scientific journals
- Ensure lab compliance with all necessary institutional and safety trainings
Requirements
- PhD in Computer Science, Electrical/Computer Engineering, or a related field
- Strong publication record in computer vision, multimodal learning, or vision-language models
- Hands-on expertise with transformer architectures (e.g., ViT, TimeSformer, CLIP, or BLIP) in PyTorch
- Demonstrated experience building explainable AI models (e.g., concept bottlenecks or attribution methods)
- Proficiency in software engineering practices including Python, Git, unit testing, and experiment tracking
- Experience with containerization (Docker) and cloud workflows
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in molecular and cellular neurobiology
- Proficiency with laboratory techniques such as immunohistochemistry, Western blotting, and biochemical assays
- Ability to operate standard laboratory equipment including centrifuges, PCR machines, and plate readers
