Postdoctoral Associate

Responsibilities

• Design, analyze, interpret, and present experiments regarding molecular mechanisms of synaptic transmission regulation
• Perform whole-cell patch clamp electrophysiology in brain slices and cell cultures
• Conduct behavioral tests in mice and in vivo 2p imaging in head-fixed mice
• Compile and analyze data to support Child Health Institute research
• Prepare manuscripts and assist in developing grant applications
• Participate in lab meetings, seminars, and scientific conferences
• Assist in daily lab management, including training and oversight of personnel and students

Requirements

• PhD or MD degree in Neuroscience or relevant biological sciences
• Experience working with rodent animals and human embryonic cells
• At least one first-author publication in a peer-reviewed journal
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Strong oral and written communication skills in English
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience with brain slice patch-clamp recordings
• Experience with optical imaging
• Proven track record in writing grants, fellowships, or scientific reports
