About the role
Responsibilities
- Design, analyze, interpret, and present experiments regarding molecular mechanisms of synaptic transmission regulation
- Perform whole-cell patch clamp electrophysiology in brain slices and cell cultures
- Conduct behavioral tests in mice and in vivo 2p imaging in head-fixed mice
- Compile and analyze data to support Child Health Institute research
- Prepare manuscripts and assist in developing grant applications
- Participate in lab meetings, seminars, and scientific conferences
- Assist in daily lab management, including training and oversight of personnel and students
Requirements
- PhD or MD degree in Neuroscience or relevant biological sciences
- Experience working with rodent animals and human embryonic cells
- At least one first-author publication in a peer-reviewed journal
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Strong oral and written communication skills in English
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience with brain slice patch-clamp recordings
- Experience with optical imaging
- Proven track record in writing grants, fellowships, or scientific reports
