About the role

Responsibilities

  • Design, analyze, and interpret experiments regarding the disease mechanisms of brain disorders using murine models and iPSC-derived human neurons
  • Perform in vivo animal experiments, including small craniotomies for chemical/viral vector injection and electrode implantation
  • Execute and analyze research studies using intracranial EEG data
  • Perform advanced signal processing and time-frequency analyses of neural recordings
  • Develop and implement computational pipelines using MATLAB, Python, or similar platforms
  • Lead manuscript preparation for peer-reviewed journals and present findings at national and international conferences
  • Contribute to grant writing and research proposals (e.g., NIH)
  • Provide research guidance to residents, graduate students, and junior research assistants

Requirements

  • PhD, MD, or equivalent doctoral degree in Neuroscience, Biomedical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
  • Experience with small animal surgery
  • Proficiency in electrophysiological experiments
  • Skills in signal processing and time-frequency analysis
  • Excellent written, verbal, and computer skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • One year of experience in a high-throughput biomedical or neuroscience research laboratory
  • Strong quantitative and programming skills (MATLAB, Python, or R)
  • Background in computational neuroscience, statistics, or signal processing
  • Experience with slice or in vivo electrophysiology
  • Experience with multimodal data integration (EEG + imaging/behavior)
  • Track record of peer-reviewed publications
  • Proficiency in GraphPad, Adobe Photoshop, and Illustrator
