About the role
Responsibilities
- Conduct research on characterizing non-coding regulatory elements in humans and understanding how these elements change across different conditions
- Develop computational frameworks for coupling functional genomics techniques with computational analyses to understand gene regulation in health and disease
- Utilize and develop software programs for the analysis of multi-dimensional epigenetic, transcriptomic, genetic, and functional genomics data
- Incorporate multi-omics high-throughput assays such as RNA-seq, ChIP-seq, ATAC-seq, MPRA, and PC-HiC into research models
- Prepare scientific manuscripts for publication and contribute to the preparation of research grant and fellowship applications
- Participate in the configuration and maintenance of laboratory instrumentation, computers, servers, and necessary databases
- Guide and assist the research projects of undergraduate research assistants
Requirements
- Ph.D. in a quantitative science (Computer Science, Statistics, Bioinformatics, Physics, or similar) or in Life Sciences with a strong computational and programming background
- All But Degree (ABD) status will be considered
- Demonstrated research productivity and prior experience in research
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Proficiency in spoken and written English
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with the analysis of high-throughput genomic and genetic data (e.g., RNA-seq, ATAC-seq, ChIP-seq, etc.)
