Postdoctoral Associate

Responsibilities

• Conduct research investigating the neural mechanisms of sensory perception, learning, and decision-making in awake-behaving rodents.
• Train and test rodents on auditory and audiovisual psychophysical tasks.
• Perform stereotaxic surgical procedures, including craniotomies, implants, and viral injections.
• Execute high-channel-count in vivo electrophysiological recordings using silicon probes and optogenetic approaches.
• Utilize viral transfection and circuit manipulation techniques, such as optogenetics and DREADDs.
• Perform anatomical tract tracing, immunohistochemistry, and fluorescence imaging.
• Develop and apply computational workflows for data analysis using Python, MATLAB, or related tools.
• Maintain accurate experimental records and present findings at laboratory meetings and scientific conferences.
• Contribute to the preparation of manuscripts and grant applications.

Requirements

• PhD in Neuroscience, Biological Sciences, Physiology, Biomedical Engineering, Psychology, or a related field.
• Experience with in vivo electrophysiology.
• Proficiency in Python or MATLAB for data analysis.
• Demonstrated stereotaxic surgical skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with multichannel silicon-probe recordings and optogenetics/opto-tagging.
• Expertise in AAV viral delivery and histological validation.
• Background in animal psychophysics and cortical circuit analysis.
• Experience mentoring trainees and a record of peer-reviewed publications.
