Postdoctoral Appointee - Laser and Radiation Effects on Microelectronics

Responsibilities

• Conduct research and analysis on the effects of radiation on electrical devices using advanced laser systems.
• Perform simulations to investigate radiation effects in electronics and other test objects.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary specialists to design experiments, analyze results, and present new insights.
• Summarize findings in internal reports and publish results in peer-reviewed journals or present at conferences.
• Travel occasionally for project meetings and professional conferences.

Requirements

• PhD in Optical Science and Engineering, Electrical Engineering (with a focus on laser systems), or a closely related STEM field.
• PhD must have been awarded within five (5) years of the employment start date.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy (DoE) Q clearance.
• Must be able to work onsite in Albuquerque, NM.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in radiation sciences and an understanding of radiation effects on electronics.
• Proficiency in modeling radiation and laser effects using semiconductor devices and circuit simulators.
• Hands-on experience testing radiation effects in electronic systems.
• Familiarity with LabVIEW or other hardware automation programming languages.
• Proven ability to work effectively within interdisciplinary teams.
