Post Doctoral Research Associate

Responsibilities

• Conduct experimental research in THz spectroscopy, ellipsometry, vortex beam spectroscopy, soft X-ray spectroscopy, and neutrons
• Perform experiments at the NSLS-II synchrotron facility using Mueller matrix magneto-ellipsometry and transmission/reflection polarimetry
• Utilize high magnetic fields (up to 7 T) and cryo-temperatures to study the properties of quantum materials and magnetic compounds
• Manage fully automatic data collection and instrument control using LabVIEW and MATLAB-based software
• Perform data modeling and advanced analysis for experimental results

Requirements

• Research experience in Optics Labs, Synchrotron, or Neutron Labs
• Knowledge of magnetic fields, cryo-temperatures, and high vacuum systems
• Expertise in FT-IR or THz spectroscopy, polarimetry, or ellipsometry
• Proficiency in MATLAB or Python for data analysis
• Proficiency in LabVIEW for measurement control
• Ability to relocate within driving distance of Brookhaven National Lab (Upton, NY)
