Post Doctoral Research Associate

Responsibilities

• Design experiments to test identified hypotheses related to soil and water conservation
• Conduct field data collection and travel to various study sites
• Perform laboratory analysis and develop new analytical methods
• Assist with the calibration, preventative maintenance, and SOP development for lab equipment
• Mentor and advise undergraduate researchers engaged in research activities
• Write and edit technical reports, manuscripts, and peer-reviewed publications
• Attend national and regional professional conferences

Requirements

• Ph.D. in soil and water conservation related disciplines (e.g., soil science, environmental engineering, geology, microbiology, or chemistry)
• Demonstrated skills in scientific instrument operation
• Proven experience in data collection and statistical analysis

Preferred Qualifications

• Evidence of peer-reviewed publications in areas such as contaminant flow modeling, soil organic matter transformations, soil metagenomics, or isotope geochemistry
• Experience with specialized instrumentation including ICP-OES, ICP-MS, CN Analyzer, IRMS, Orbitrap Mass spectrometry, HPLC, or GC-MS
• Active involvement in professional scientific associations or organizations
