About the role
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Principal Investigator and research team to perform research studies
- Contribute to the development of in silico physiological models of hemorrhage
- Integrate models with large-animal experimental data
- Execute independent verification and validation (IV&V) studies to evaluate emerging medical technologies
- Analyze data and assist with data management
- Draft and submit abstracts, manuscripts, and progress reports for dissemination
- Present complex scientific information to various audiences
Requirements
- PhD or MD
- Experience creating in silico and/or in vitro models of cardiovascular systems
- Experience creating hardware and software for micro-shock tubes for the study of blast overpressure
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including intermediate Excel skills
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to exercise independent judgment in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
Preferred Qualifications
- 1-2 years of medical research project management experience, preferably with the Department of Defense
- Specialized knowledge of quantifying motion of flow-diverting stents (FDS) against aneurysmal vessel walls
- Knowledge of triboelectric charge on particles in helical gas/solids pipe flow systems
- Familiarity with military systems
