Post Doctoral Fellow

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Principal Investigator and research team to perform research studies
• Contribute to the development of in silico physiological models of hemorrhage
• Integrate models with large-animal experimental data
• Execute independent verification and validation (IV&V) studies to evaluate emerging medical technologies
• Analyze data and assist with data management
• Draft and submit abstracts, manuscripts, and progress reports for dissemination
• Present complex scientific information to various audiences

Requirements

• PhD or MD
• Experience creating in silico and/or in vitro models of cardiovascular systems
• Experience creating hardware and software for micro-shock tubes for the study of blast overpressure
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including intermediate Excel skills
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Ability to exercise independent judgment in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment

Preferred Qualifications

• 1-2 years of medical research project management experience, preferably with the Department of Defense
• Specialized knowledge of quantifying motion of flow-diverting stents (FDS) against aneurysmal vessel walls
• Knowledge of triboelectric charge on particles in helical gas/solids pipe flow systems
• Familiarity with military systems
