About the role

Responsibilities

  • Lead an innovative and translational research project examining the role of platelets in abdominal aortic aneurysm disease
  • Design laboratory experiments in coordination with the PI and follow established research protocols
  • Perform mouse-based in vivo experiments
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of all laboratory work and experiments
  • Interpret data, perform statistical and graphical analysis, and judge data validity
  • Operate and troubleshoot standard laboratory equipment
  • Assist in training post-doctoral fellows, graduate students, and junior laboratory personnel
  • Contribute to laboratory meetings, presentations, and publications, including abstracts and reports
  • Develop independent projects and apply for independent funding
  • Contribute to other lab projects regarding atherosclerosis and deep vein thrombosis

Requirements

  • PhD in biology or a related field
  • One year of postdoctoral experience
  • One year of dedicated grant writing experience
  • Ability to perform mouse-based in vivo experiments
