Post-baccalaurete Researcher

Responsibilities

• Execute experiments and support data collection under the supervision of the Principal Investigator (PI)
• Provide preliminary summaries of findings to advance research program aims
• Coordinate undergraduate researchers and assist the PI with mentorship and development
• Maintain laboratory organization, including cleanliness, equipment oversight, and organism care
• Manage inventory tracking, ordering, and routine equipment upkeep
• Follow and promote all laboratory safety guidelines and departmental EHS protocols
• Ensure accuracy of data logs, documentation, and project timelines
• Participate in regular lab meetings, discussions, and research presentations

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in a related field
• Previous experience as an undergraduate researcher
• Hands-on experience in a biology or chemistry laboratory setting
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including occasional weekends as required by experiments

Preferred Qualifications

• Recent graduate of the University of Portland with a major in biology or chemistry
• Academic emphasis in biochemistry
