Positive Behavior Intervention Specialist

Responsibilities

• Provide research-based targeted intervention in behavior and social-emotional learning for the 2026 STEM Freedom School Summer Program.
• Deliver classroom management, scholar redirection support, and practical training to staff.
• Create and lead school-wide behavior management strategies to support academic success.
• Assist with the development and implementation of Functional Behavior Assessments (FBA), Proactive Behavior Plans, and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP).
• Monitor and record data pertaining to scholar goals and objectives.
• De-escalate personal confrontations and promote respect, diversity, and social norms.
• Communicate with parents, students, and staff to convey pertinent information while maintaining strict confidentiality.
• Collaborate with the STEM Freedom School Director, Manager, and grade-level staff.

Requirements

• Experience and training in crisis intervention and prevention.
• Proven experience with conflict resolution and various discipline strategies.
• Ability to assist in writing Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBA) and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP).
• Experience working with IEP (Individualized Education Program) teams.
• Strong communication skills to interact effectively with scholars, staff, and families.
