About the role

Responsibilities

  • Ensure equipment is maintained to company standards
  • Coordinate vessel maintenance, repairs, and downtime with engineering managers
  • Work with vendors to schedule and coordinate maintenance and repairs
  • Assist Chief Engineer with repairs underway or dockside
  • Conduct annual performance evaluations with vessel engineers
  • Manage vessel maintenance records in the HELM program
  • Manage costs for repairs and purchasing to control maintenance expenses
  • Collaborate with operations for scheduling and perform special technical assignments

Requirements

  • 2-3 years of related experience
  • Associate’s degree, technical school, or diesel college education preferred
  • Valid driver's license
  • Working knowledge of engines, gears, generators, hydraulics, and basic electrical systems
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve problems remotely
  • Physical ability to transit work environments, including climbing and confined spaces
  • Ability to work in extreme weather and on a rotating 24/7 on-call schedule
