Polier

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage all civil engineering works on-site, including earthworks, foundation work, and steel construction.
• Lead site meetings with subcontractors and project teams to ensure smooth workflows and resolve interface conflicts.
• Oversee material deliveries and ensure necessary equipment and resources are available on schedule.
• Collaborate with project management to track construction progress, record performance data, and report deviations.
• Enforce strict health, safety, and environmental (EHS) standards, including DGUV and site-specific regulations.
• Maintain continuous quality control through inspections, formal testing, and detailed documentation in site logs.

Requirements

• Completed vocational training in construction with additional qualification as a certified Polier, Vorarbeiter, or Meister.
• Multi-year practical experience in civil engineering, ideally within industrial plants or energy infrastructure.
• Proven track record of leading construction teams and managing subcontractors.
• Strong knowledge of German construction standards (DIN, VDE) and the ability to read technical drawings.
• Proficiency in occupational safety management and site risk assessment.
• Fluency in both German and English (written and spoken).

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience with substation construction projects (AIS/GIS).
