About the Company
The Office of the New York City Comptroller serves as the City’s chief fiscal steward, responsible for auditing City agencies, managing pension funds, overseeing contracts, and advancing policy solutions that promote equity, transparency, and effective government.
Responsibilities
- Lead initiatives related to financial literacy, banking access, and connecting underserved communities to financial services
- Produce policy briefs, analytical reports, memoranda, and testimony grounded in empirical analysis
- Convene stakeholders including MWBE owners, chambers of commerce, and financial institutions like CDFIs
- Collaborate with legal and contract teams to improve transparency and equity in City procurement
- Conduct research using City procurement, vendor, workforce, and budget data
- Advise senior staff on trends in supplier diversity and inclusive economic development
- Manage cross-bureau initiatives and multidisciplinary teams
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
- 5+ years of professional experience in public policy, economic development, procurement policy, or diversity and inclusion strategy
- Experience in government, academia, or a public policy/nonprofit organization
- Ability to conduct research and analysis using complex datasets
