Police Officer Patrolman

Responsibilities

• Patrol the University campus on foot, bicycle, or motor vehicle to maintain public safety and detect security hazards
• Act as a first responder to incidents, accidents, and emergency situations
• Conduct initial and follow-up investigations into criminal, civil, and other complaints
• Enforce University regulations as well as Federal, State, and Local laws
• Prepare clear and accurate criminal, incident, and administrative reports
• Work special events such as sporting events, concerts, and demonstrations
• Maintain helpful and cooperative relations with students, faculty, staff, and visitors
• Perform all duties with the utmost confidentiality and professionalism

Requirements

• High school diploma
• PA Act 120 Certification or equivalent
• Valid driver's license with a good driving record
• Ability to lift 75-100 lbs.
• Ability to walk or stand for long periods of time
• Ability to pass a drug and alcohol screening test
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays

Preferred Qualifications

• Two years of related experience in a law enforcement background
• Previous experience as a police officer at a university setting
