Requirements

About the role
Responsibilities
- Perform patrol assignments and duties of a regular patrol officer conscientiously, proficiently, and independently
- Conduct criminal investigations and perform authorized activities related to case analysis and law application
- Exercise independent judgment and discretion in meeting emergencies and handling high-pressure situations
- Provide tactful and courteous treatment of all citizens and maintain positive community relationships
- Manage and maintain assigned police vehicles and departmental equipment
- Execute special law enforcement activities including surveillance, juvenile matters, or specialized assignments as directed
Requirements
- United States citizenship or lawful permanent resident status
- Minimum of 21 years of age by the certification date of the eligibility list
- High school graduate (Associate degree in Law Enforcement preferred)
- Valid State of Washington Driver's License with a clean driving record
- WSCJTC Basic Law Enforcement Academy certification (or ability to pass the WSCJTC equivalency exam for out-of-state candidates)
- Minimum of one year of full-time law enforcement experience within the last 24 months
- Successful completion of medical, psychological, oral, and polygraph examinations
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate degree in Law Enforcement
- Experience in specialty assignments such as Detectives, K-9, SWAT, or Field Training
Benefits
- Competitive salary range: $101,054.64 - $131,944.08 annually (plus anticipated COLA)
- Unique patrol schedule: 14 twelve-hour shifts within a 28-day cycle, providing a 3-day weekend every other week
