Police Officer

Responsibilities

• Perform general law enforcement duties to ensure the enforcement of state and local laws and University rules.
• Patrol campus, check property for security, and conduct room searches to maintain order and public safety.
• Issue traffic and parking tickets, apprehend and arrest suspects, and question individuals.
• Collect and preserve evidence and assist crime and accident victims.
• Respond to student and citizen inquiries, complaints, and medical emergencies.
• Maintain security at the University's main entrance and monitor entering vehicles and pedestrians.
• Prepare and submit detailed incident reports.
• Provide crowd, parking, and traffic control for athletic events and special University functions.
• Monitor campus exterior lighting and assist in conducting fire drills and building evacuations.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Valid Basic Law Enforcement Training (BLET) certification.
• Valid state driver's license.
• 1-2 years of experience in security or law enforcement (or an equivalent combination of education and experience).
