Police Officer

Responsibilities

• Provide safety and security services during on-campus special events as a certified peace officer
• Independently perform law enforcement duties using standard operating procedures to protect students, faculty, staff, visitors, and the public
• Support events hosted at the Wolstein Center, including concerts, motorsports, trade shows, and community celebrations
• Provide special service and assistance to the campus community as needed
• Maintain a presence that fosters trust, transparency, and collaboration through community policing

Requirements

• Current OPOTA Peace Officer certification
• Currently employed full-time with a qualifying law enforcement agency
• Completion of required Field Training and Continued Professional Training through current full-time employment
• Three years of continuous full-time law enforcement experience
• 21 years of age or older and eligible for a license to carry a firearm
• Valid driver’s license and ability to meet University driving eligibility standards
• Ability to work nights, weekends, or flexible hours
• Physical ability to stand for long periods and perform tasks such as bending, reaching, lifting, or pushing/pulling heavy objects

Preferred Qualifications

• Five years of continuous full-time experience in law enforcement
