Responsibilities

• Protect lives and property through active foot and mobile patrol, enforcing laws and university regulations
• Conduct criminal investigations, collect evidence, and process documentation for incidents such as thefts, assaults, and accidents
• Perform arrests, detain subjects for questioning, and transport individuals to appropriate holding facilities
• Enforce parking and traffic regulations, including issuing citations and directing traffic on campus
• Provide first aid and emergency assistance to faculty, staff, students, and the public
• Serve on the First Aid Team and the Campus Safety Committee
• Maintain professional relationships and coordinate with the Rapides Parish Sheriff’s Office and Louisiana State Police
• Testify in court as a witness regarding complaints and arrests

Requirements

• Two years of law enforcement experience
• P.O.S.T. certification (copy must be attached to application)
• Passing score on the 2100-Protective Services Exam (PSE)
• Valid Louisiana driver's license
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screen
• Ability to qualify annually at the firing range with a score of 96 or better
