About the role

Responsibilities

  • Supervise police officers acting as first responders to criminal incidents, fires, hazardous material spills, injuries, and vehicular accidents.
  • Oversee the investigation of all criminal and non-criminal incidents to ensure thoroughness and accuracy.
  • Monitor and ensure officers maintain a positive, professional presence throughout the campus and surrounding jurisdictions.
  • Command an Emergency Operations Center during emergency conditions involving danger to life and property.
  • Utilize crime prevention techniques and statistical information to develop proactive measures to reduce criminal occurrences.
  • Coordinate policing efforts with Sinclair Regional learning centers and maintain proficiency in Clery Act and Title IX federal laws.
  • Provide first-aid and CPR/AED techniques and supervise personnel during medical emergencies.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 6 years of full-time certified police officer experience.
  • OPOTA certification or equivalent state police training certification.
  • Current certification in the use of firearms (handgun, shotgun, and rifle).
  • Current CPR/AED certification.
  • Current TASER certification.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • In-depth knowledge of the U.S. Constitution, as well as Federal, State, and City laws.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills with the ability to diffuse volatile situations.
