Poetry Instructor

Responsibilities

• Lead fun and accessible poetry and writing activities tailored for young learners
• Encourage students to explore rhyme, rhythm, and voice while building confidence as writers
• Plan creative prompts and group sharing circles that invite self-expression
• Help students create poetry books, zines, or presentations to share with families
• Collaborate with admin and complete all digital reporting tasks

Requirements

• Enrolled in a Bachelor’s program in Education, Literature, or a related field
• Strong creative writing or poetry background
• Experience working with children in an educational or mentoring capacity
• Ability to create and guide age-appropriate writing prompts
• Enthusiastic, supportive, and creative teaching style

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in curriculum development
• Experience leading writing workshops for youth
• Passion for youth storytelling and community-based writing
