Podcast Producer

Responsibilities

• Shape and produce the ABC's daily news podcast, ABC News Daily, ensuring high-quality journalism for a broad Australian audience
• Identify the most relevant daily news stories and pitch them with a podcast-first mindset
• Uphold journalistic principles of fairness, balance, and integrity while ensuring diverse perspectives are represented
• Source stories, identify talent, conduct pre-interviews, and secure high-quality audio that reflects the cultural and geographic diversity of Australia

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional journalism experience
• A proven track record of high-calibre journalism within a daily news environment
• Strong understanding of news podcast listening trends, major platforms, and distribution models
• Ability to engage under-served and disengaged news consumers

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in audio production and podcasting
• Demonstrated ability to use audio effectively to help listeners connect deeply with stories

Benefits

• Base salary ranging from $105K to $128K
