About the role

Responsibilities

  • Enforce adherence to the PMO governance framework, ensuring compliance with methodologies, controls, and documentation standards.
  • Perform regular independent governance reviews, stage-gate checks, and assurance activities across the project lifecycle.
  • Validate the quality and completeness of core project artefacts, including business cases, plans, RAID logs, and budgets.
  • Produce portfolio-level governance reporting and dashboards for PMO leadership and steering committees.
  • Identify cross-project themes, systemic risks, and recurring control issues to provide actionable recommendations.
  • Act as an early-warning mechanism to flag projects trending towards delivery failure or control breakdown.
  • Provide constructive challenge to Project Managers to ensure accountability and adherence to standards.

Requirements

  • Degree in Project Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
  • Approximately 4 years of experience in a PMO, project governance, assurance, or control role.
  • Strong understanding of project management frameworks such as PRINCE2, APM, or Agile.
  • Proven experience conducting governance reviews and quality control activities.
  • Proficiency in reporting and PMO tools, including Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Project.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable portfolio insights.
  • Excellent communication skills with the confidence to challenge delivery teams and senior stakeholders.
