About the role

Responsibilities

  • Maintain, repair, and troubleshoot fire and life safety systems, including fire alarms, suppression systems, and sprinkler systems
  • Diagnose electronic fire alarm issues using advanced electronics expertise
  • Interpret blueprints and schematics to perform technical tasks
  • Execute journeyman-level plumbing, pipefitting, welding, and pipe fitting to maintain building infrastructure and equipment

Requirements

  • Completion of a recognized apprenticeship as a plumber/pipefitter/steamfitter, full journey status in a union, or four years of applicable work experience
  • Valid driver’s license (or ability to obtain one by time of hire)
  • Ability to respond to the worksite on a 24-hour basis

Preferred Qualifications

  • Journey-level plumbing or pipefitter certification at time of hire
  • Three years of experience as a fire alarm technician or equivalent
  • Welding experience and ability to obtain welding certification within six months
  • NICET Certification in Inspection and Testing of Water Based Suppression Systems
  • NICET Level II Certification in Fire Alarm Systems
  • NICET Certification in Special Hazard Suppression Systems
