Plumber/Pipefitter Master

Responsibilities

• Repair, troubleshoot, modify, and maintain complex utility systems including high/low pressure steam, condensate, fire protection, sanitary sewer, compressed air, and chilled water.
• Fabricate, install, and repair various piping materials such as cast iron, steel, copper, and plastics (PVC, PE, HDPE) for above and below-ground systems.
• Troubleshoot system blockages in sewer and drainage piping using high-pressure water and blast cleaning equipment.
• Install piping systems based on complex drawings and technical specifications.
• Perform preventive maintenance on pressure regulators, steam traps, safety relief valves, flow meters, and various valves.
• Execute related trade skills including welding, soldering, thermal insulation, excavation, and shoring.
• Operate specialized equipment such as natural gas leak detectors, underground pipe locators, and heavy machinery like trackhoes or backhoes.

Requirements

• Three years of experience or training in pipefitting, steam fitting, or plumbing.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment physical examination.
• Ability to pass drug and alcohol testing in accordance with University Policy.
• Ability to serve as emergency essential personnel, reporting to campus during emergencies or closures.
