Plumber II

Responsibilities

• Maintain, repair, and install plumbing systems including water, sewage, gas, and irrigation.
• Perform tasks related to remodeling and construction projects.
• Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs for critical systems and hot water heaters.
• Inspect fire sprinkler systems to ensure legal compliance and operational readiness.
• Repair or replace faucets, showerheads, drains, pipes, valves, and circulating pumps.
• Order materials and supplies while maintaining the plumbing budget.
• Coordinate special projects with outside plumbing contractors.
• Respond quickly to plumbing emergencies and participate in a 24-hour on-call rotation.
• Supervise other plumbing employees and student workers.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED.
• Proven skill in plumbing, mechanical, and construction systems.
• Proficiency with hand and power tools, including pipe threaders and sewer machines.
• Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications.
• Ability to lift, carry, and pull loads in excess of fifty pounds.
• Ability to climb ladders and work in varying climate conditions.
• Fluency in English (reading and speaking).
• Must be a professing Christian willing to support the Christian mission of ACU.
