Plumber 'A'

Responsibilities

• Plan and perform a wide variety of complex plumbing tasks, including the installation and repair of showers, bathroom fixtures, laboratory plumbing, sewer, gas, air, and vacuum lines.
• Install and maintain hot and cold-water tanks, sewer/water/sump pumps, and air and ground water sprinkler systems.
• Perform maintenance and testing on backflow preventers, pools, and spas.
• Maintain and install DI and RO laboratory water systems.
• Execute planned layout work, including drilling holes in walls and floors for pipe installation and installing pipe hangers and insulation.
• Estimate materials, costs, time, and personnel requirements using independent judgment.
• Adhere to all safety protocols, including PPE, Lock Out Tag Out, Confined Space, and aerial lift procedures.
• Follow established guidelines regarding Asbestos and PCB handling.

Requirements

• Advanced knowledge of the plumbing trade equivalent to complete accredited apprentice training.
• At least two years of additional practical plumbing experience.
• Valid NYS driver's license with the ability to drive both manual and automatic transmission vehicles.
• NSPF CPO certification.
• Advanced knowledge of DI and RO laboratory water systems.
• Must provide own hand tools (e.g., pipe wrenches, sink wrenches, screwdrivers, pliers, vice grips).
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs, pushing/pulling up to 75 lbs, and working in extreme heat or at elevated heights.
