PLC Technician

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot production equipment problems to determine root causes, including programming, hardware, and equipment issues
• Execute programming modifications for PLCs, HMIs, robot controls, and vision systems to resolve downtime and improve productivity
• Maintain daily records of all programming changes for departmental documentation
• Review non-standard programming modifications with the Controls Engineer or supervisor to ensure compliance with standards
• Provide recommendations to improve machine productivity, safety, and efficiency
• Conduct preventive maintenance and coordinate with cross-shift team members to complete projects according to plan

Requirements

• Associate degree from a Trade or Technical school in automation or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• 3-4+ years of relevant experience in a similar technical role
• Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience using SAP
