Plating Process Engineer

Responsibilities

• Support global Plating Operations through the evaluation, development, and implementation of new processes, materials, and technologies.
• Lead cross-functional teams for process control and improvement projects using Six Sigma tools such as DOE, hypothesis testing, and SPC.
• Maintain updated process documentation to meet manufacturing, safety, and environmental standards.
• Partner with Quality and Operations groups on continuous quality improvement and scrap reduction projects.
• Collaborate with the Plating Laboratory Supervisor on chemical process control and with the Lead R&D Chemist to troubleshoot new plating chemistry innovations.
• Provide technical support for precious metal usage and reduction projects.
• Manage recipes for new product setup and existing product optimization.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, or a Technical or Science degree.
• Alternatively, a minimum of 2 years of experience in Process, Chemical, or Manufacturing engineering.
• Ability to stand, lift, and walk on a continual basis.
• Willingness to work in a chemical environment.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work independently and as a self-starter within a team.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in an electroplating environment.
• Formal training in Lean manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, Statistical Process Control (SPC), and Six Sigma.
