Plating Engineering Supervisor

Responsibilities

• Lead the Plating Process Engineering team in the development, testing, and implementation of new materials and technologies.
• Support global Plating Operations by evaluating and implementing processes focused on safety, quality, service, and cost.
• Lead cross-functional teams for process control and improvement projects using Six Sigma tools such as DOE, hypothesis testing, and SPC.
• Develop the engineering team to ensure continual growth in capabilities and innovation.
• Maintain updated process documentation that meets all manufacturing, safety, and environmental standards.
• Collaborate with Quality and Operations groups on continuous improvement and scrap reduction projects.
• Partner with the Plating Laboratory Supervisor and R&D Chemists to support chemical process control and troubleshoot new plating chemistry innovations.
• Provide technical guidance to New Product Engineering regarding plating capabilities and product development solutions.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, or a Technical or Science degree.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in Process, Chemical, Manufacturing, or an equivalent engineering position.
• Ability to stand, lift, and walk on a continual basis.
• Willingness to work in a chemical environment.
• Strong teamwork, communication, and independent problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in an electroplating environment.
• Previous experience in a leadership or supervisory position.
• Formal training in Lean manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, Statistical Process Control (SPC), and Six Sigma.
