Platform Operations Engineer

Responsibilities

• Support multiple applications in an Enterprise Hosted environment and provide escalation support for various platforms and services.
• Perform monthly, quarterly, and yearly application upgrades within the hosted environment.
• Analyze technical requests to resolve short-term and long-term issues while meeting company SLAs.
• Monitor and tune applications through project initiatives, enhancements, and integrations.
• Manage workload and priorities in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions.
• Create and maintain technical documentation and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for production environments.
• Provide formal mentorship to less experienced team members.
• Assist with vulnerability remediation and security scan analysis.

Requirements

• 3-5 years of related professional experience in a platform or systems operations role.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• RedHat certifications (RHCSA or RHCE) are required.
• Strong expertise in Linux administration (RedHat, CentOS, Rocky Linux).
• Thorough understanding of protocols including DNS, HTTP, LDAP, SMTP, and SNMP.
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Shell or Python.
• Ability to work rotational shifts in a 24/7 environment.
• Solid understanding of OS, Database, and Networking concepts.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of configuration management tools like Puppet or Ansible.
• Experience with ELK stack and Tableau.
• Experience configuring and managing DNS zones.
• Industry certifications for specific applications being supported.
