Platform Engineering Manager

Responsibilities

• Lead the Platform Engineering team, including shared infrastructure services and forward-deployed engineers.
• Develop engineers and set the bar for technical excellence and operational rigor.
• Own the technical strategy for the shared platform, including compute, networking, observability, and CI/CD.
• Manage the rotation model, deploying engineers into client engagements and rotating them back to harden the platform.
• Run team logistics, including staffing, capacity planning, on-call rotations, and incident response.
• Own execution for client engagements, ensuring technical quality and successful delivery.

Requirements

• Track record leading platform, infrastructure, or distributed-systems engineering teams in production-critical environments.
• Experience leading small, senior engineering teams.
• Demonstrated operational experience managing concurrent workstreams, staffing, and incident response.
• Strong technical depth with the ability to review architecture and read production code.
• Experience with forward-deployed, embedded, or solutions-engineering models.
• Ability to be customer-facing with tier-1 institutional clients.
• High agency and ability to drive results within a decentralized command structure.

Preferred Qualifications

• Blockchain or protocol experience (staking, validators, MPC, custody, DeFi).
• Experience with MPC, HSMs, threshold signing, or secure enclaves.
• Background working with tier-1 financial institutions.
• Experience building or scaling a forward-deployed engineering function.
