Platform Engineer

Responsibilities

• Build, tune, and manage infrastructure, DevOps, and monitoring for Data & AI platforms within the Global Banking and Markets division.
• Support the design, deployment, and maintenance of Azure and Databricks platform components, including clusters and Unity Catalog objects.
• Develop reusable Terraform modules and standardise configurations to drive automation and operational efficiency.
• Maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions or Azure DevOps to support infrastructure and data workloads.
• Assist in diagnosing platform issues, analyzing logs/metrics, and supporting stability efforts using Azure Monitor and Log Analytics.
• Provide operational support, including patching, remediation of audit items, and participating in on-call rotations.

Requirements

• 5+ years of IT experience in large-scale organizations.
• 3–5 years of hands-on cloud engineering experience, with a preference for Azure.
• Proficiency with Azure networking, IAM/RBAC, Key Vault, and Storage Accounts.
• Practical experience with Databricks (clusters, jobs, and Unity Catalog).
• Solid understanding of Terraform, IaC workflows, and Git-based development.
• Experience building pipelines with Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.
• Strong scripting skills in Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
• Hands-on experience with Docker and fundamental Kubernetes concepts.

Preferred Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Experience working within highly regulated financial environments.
