Platform Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain reusable Terraform modules for AWS services
• Create and improve component and integration tests to ensure infrastructure quality and compatibility
• Collaborate with product teams to understand their needs and continuously improve the developer experience
• Develop and maintain an internal fork of InfraWeave, contributing improvements back to the open-source community
• Ensure comprehensive observability, security, and reliability of the InfraWeave deployment within AWS
• Operate and advance the internal Backstage developer portal
• Contribute to the AWS Landing Zone in collaboration with the CloudOps team
• Establish and promote best practices in IaC, GitOps, and platform engineering

Requirements

• Proficiency in English, both spoken and written
• Demonstrated experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) methodologies
• Comprehensive knowledge of AWS services, specifically networking, security, and containerization (EKS)
• Experience developing and implementing infrastructure code tests, including component and integration testing
• Solid programming experience, preferably in Rust

Preferred Qualifications

• Extensive experience with Terraform module development and industry best practices
• Practical knowledge of Kubernetes (EKS), Istio, ArgoCD, or CIAM solutions like Auth0
• Experience with AWS Landing Zones and multi-account architectures
• Experience working with or contributing to open-source projects
• Experience with Backstage or similar developer portals
• Advanced scripting capabilities in Python or Bash and proficiency in Linux environments
