Plastic Pipefitter

Responsibilities

• Install, assemble, and secure plastic pipe systems including PVC, HDPE, ABS, and PP
• Cut, shape, fuse, weld, solvent-cement, or mechanically join plastic pipes and fittings
• Read and follow technical drawings, schematics, and specifications accurately
• Measure, mark, and prepare pipe runs with high precision
• Install supports, brackets, and hangers to ensure correct pipe alignment
• Test completed pipework for leaks, pressure, and functionality
• Carry out maintenance, fault finding, and repairs on existing systems
• Ensure all work complies with industry standards, regulations, and site safety procedures

Requirements

• Proven experience working with plastic piping systems
• Knowledge of pipe fusion, solvent welding, and mechanical jointing methods
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
• Site safety certification such as CCNSG Safety Passport, CSCS, or equivalent
• Strong practical skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities

Preferred Qualifications

• NVQ/SVQ Level 2 or 3 in Pipefitting, Plumbing, or a related discipline
• Relevant plastic welding or fusion certifications
