Plastic Injection Molding Process Technician

Responsibilities

• Set up, maintain, and optimize process controls on injection molding presses, molds, and equipment to meet customer specifications.
• Troubleshoot, repair, and perform preventative maintenance on molding systems and equipment.
• Optimize machine processes by reducing scrap, cycle times, and mold change times.
• Direct mold set-ups using efficient mold change systems and robotics.
• Develop and modify robot programs, including End of Arm Set-up and troubleshooting.
• Monitor production for accuracy and efficiency, working closely with quality inspectors to ensure part performance.
• Perform minor electrical and mechanical repairs and adjustments to machines and tools.
• Compile and store production data and complete all required technical reports and paperwork.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Proven experience in injection molding or a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with Robotics and Programming (including End of Arm Set-up).
• Knowledge of materials including TPO, ABS, Nylons, and PCs.
• Experience with hot runners, valve gate sequencing, gas assist, or insert molding.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and basic mathematical skills.
• Ability to work the 3rd shift (night shift).
• Physical ability to lift up to 75lbs and perform tasks involving standing, bending, kneeling, and climbing.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with AS400 systems.
• Previous experience in a specialized injection molding department.
