About the role
Responsibilities
- Set up, maintain, and optimize process controls on injection molding presses, molds, and equipment to meet customer specifications.
- Troubleshoot, repair, and perform preventative maintenance on molding systems and equipment.
- Optimize machine processes by reducing scrap, cycle times, and mold change times.
- Direct mold set-ups using efficient mold change systems and robotics.
- Develop and modify robot programs, including End of Arm Set-up and troubleshooting.
- Monitor production for accuracy and efficiency, working closely with quality inspectors to ensure part performance.
- Perform minor electrical and mechanical repairs and adjustments to machines and tools.
- Compile and store production data and complete all required technical reports and paperwork.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience in injection molding or a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with Robotics and Programming (including End of Arm Set-up).
- Knowledge of materials including TPO, ABS, Nylons, and PCs.
- Experience with hot runners, valve gate sequencing, gas assist, or insert molding.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and basic mathematical skills.
- Ability to work the 3rd shift (night shift).
- Physical ability to lift up to 75lbs and perform tasks involving standing, bending, kneeling, and climbing.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with AS400 systems.
- Previous experience in a specialized injection molding department.
