About the role
Responsibilities
- Determine donor eligibility through medical history interviews, physical examinations, and blood testing
- Manage informed consent, AIDS education, and confidential self-exclusion processes
- Evaluate and manage donor adverse reactions according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Review laboratory test results and notify donors of unsuitable findings in coordination with the Center Physician
- Support environmental, health, and safety (EHS) initiatives and manage employee incidents
- Assist with vaccination programs and potentially serve as a Pandemic Coordinator when authorized
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent, including graduation from a recognized nursing program
- Current license or certification as a Registered Nurse (RN), Nurse Practitioner (NP), or Physician Assistant (PA)
- Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and AED certification
- Valid state certification for basic IV therapy
- Minimum of two years of experience in a clinical or hospital setting
- Ability to complete FDA-approved training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialists
