About the role

Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor plant utilities and process systems, including boilers, chillers, compressors, HVAC, and water treatment systems.
  • Use control room systems such as SCADA or DCS to track equipment performance and adjust process parameters via PLCs.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), confined space, and chemical handling procedures.
  • Identify, diagnose, and troubleshoot malfunctions in utility or process systems to minimize downtime.
  • Coordinate with maintenance and engineering teams to support repairs and preventive maintenance activities.
  • Analyze system performance to recommend adjustments for improved efficiency and reduced energy consumption.
  • Respond effectively to system alarms, failures, or emergencies to minimize production impact.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, including system performance records, maintenance logs, and daily shift reports.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to work a 2-3-2 Pitman schedule, including overtime and holidays as needed.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication skills and a keen sense of urgency during emergencies.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in a control room operation environment.
  • Experience with HVAC, boilers, cooling towers, water treatment (RO systems), and power distribution.
  • Associate's degree or vocational training in mechanical engineering, industrial technology, or a related field.
  • Equivalent military or technical training in power plant or industrial systems.
